The fortezza is well worth a visit. Great value, especially if you buy a combined ticket with the Museum of Contemporary Art of Crete down the road but note they only accept card payments. Great views...

The Fortezza is towering above town and presents beautiful views in all directions. It is also surprisingly large and varied, with many ruins, structures and some buildings.
