KOS AKTIS ART HOTEL

KOS AKTIS ART HOTEL is a luxurious hotel with a minimalist design on the beach in the center of Kos town.

Every traveler who visits the hotel 'Kos Aktis' will realise that it is a truly a special destination. It is open all year round and is situated in an outstanding location right in front of the sea in the town center, meaning that every room has a magnificent sea view. The hotel caters for couples looking for a two-day winter getaway, for individuals who are travelling for work and looking for somewhere they can relax, for cyclists who are exploring new horizons on two wheels and, in short, for everyone who wants to taste the authentic experience of ancient Greek hospitality at least once. From its opening in 2005 until today, it has always been a favorite of people who love the sea and want to be able to enjoy it every day.

The hotel has thirty-six rooms and six suites which have a view over the sea to Bodrum which is just a stone's throw from the Greek border. The rooms and suites are split evenly between the hotel’s three floors. During the day, guests can spend time on the spacious balcony and enjoy watching the sun as it plays with the colours in the sky, while in the evening they can lose themselves in night’s silence as they gaze up at the stars. If there is a full moon, guests can treasure the sight of the moon’s reflection in the calm, dark blue of the sea.

To the left of 'Kos Aktis' is the oldest hotel on the island, the 'Albergo Gelsomino' which has stood there proudly since it opened in 1927. To the right there is a bike path lined with palm trees leading to the island’s marina. And opposite the central entrance to the hotel which faces inland, is the majestic, age-old fig tree in the park of Vasileos Georgiou Avenue.

The outstanding element in the hotel’s architecture is undoubtedly the use of glass. The plate glass windows in the corridors and the rooms make the hotel wonderfully light and airy and allow the building to “interact” naturally with the areas surrounding it. The thick glass on the balconies turn the external partitions into a series of canvases which reflect the sky, with different colors every time. From a distance, they look like floating paintings.

Finally, the Bar - Restaurant 'H2O' on the ground floor of the building, has sliding glass doors which give guests the feeling of a smooth and inspiring continuity between the seating and the sea. In other words, wherever guests may be in the hotel, they can always enjoy a view of the sea or look out at life going on outside the building.

That, after all, was the original goal. That the dynamic, ever-changing images constantly created by the interplay of the movement of the water and the changing intensity of the light would be able to circulate freely inside the hotel, giving guests the feeling that the natural environment is embracing them wherever they go, even although in reality, it remains stationary.
