Ophthalmologist BASIAKOS SOTIRIS maintains his office in the center of Thessaloniki.
Ophthalmologist Sotiris Basiakos, after specializing in Germany and the Second University Ophthalmology Clinic of A.U.Th. at G.P.N.Th. Papageorgiou, specialized in strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology at the university hospital of Gieben in Germany.
The clinic specializes in strabismus and pediatric ophthalmology. Complete orthoptic examination, strabismus monitoring, as well as amblyopia monitoring & treatment is provided.
An examination for automatic refraction/keratometry, visual acuity measurement and refractive testing for prescription of glasses and contact lenses is also carried out.
Tests are performed, such as slit-lamp anterior hemisphere biomicroscopy, fundoscopy, OCT (optical coherence tomography), macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy monitoring, as well as intraocular pressure measurement (tonometry), glaucoma monitoring and corneal pachymetry, ophthalmoscopy to monitor thyroid eye disease, and examination of visual fields.
Strabismus, eyelid, nasolacrimal duct and cataract surgeries are performed.
