BIOSERUM - PAPAIOANNOU ZACHARIOU POLYANTHI is a modern microbiology laboratory (Bacteriological - Clinical Laboratory), which was founded in 1996 in Volos, and operates under the direction of the doctor microbiologist Polyanthi Papaioannou-Zachariou.
It is one of the first clinical laboratories in Greece, with a wide range of accredited tests, in accordance with the ISO 9001:2008 standard, were all the prescribed regulations are observed: strict intra-laboratory testing, using standard sera supplied by recognized firms, continuous inspection and maintenance of instruments and devices, repeated testing of samples. Furthermore, the continuous modernization, participation in external quality control programs, continuous scientific updating and activity also take place.
Hematology, biochemical, hormone, immunology tests are performed, as well as neoplastic markers, coagulation tests, prenatal screening, sperm and fertility tests.
The spermogram is performed with a Lenshooke X1 PRO sperm analyzer, for the objective estimation of the number, motility and straight line velocity (VSL) of the sperm. Morphological assessment is based on the Kruger criteria.
Most of the results are given on the same day, while in urgent cases there is the possibility of sending the results by fax or e-mail.
