GOETHE - ZENTRUM PATRAS

The GOETHE - ZENTRUM PATRAS foreign language school has been open since 2000 in Patra and is the only German language centre, which works in partnership with the Goethe Institute in the entirety of Southwest Greece.

Siegfried Blocher, who was a professor at the former Goethe Institut Patras for many years, runs the Goethe-Zentrum. He works responsibly and consistency to teach his mother tongue, German. He also continues to work as an examiner for the official Goethe Institute examinations.

The centre provides an all-expenses-paid scholarship to attend a language course at a Goethe Institute in Germany and free tutoring to help with each student's individual difficulties. Additionally, all students are insured against accidents during the lessons and also for half an hour before and after.

The deep knowledge of the language, the fact that the centre always keeps up to date with the latest methodology and methods of teaching German, the Goethe-Zentrum teaching team’s many years of experience and, above all, the love and interest the centre has for its students, are all guarantees that students will learn German quickly, methodically and correctly.

Our language departments:

The curriculum includes all levels of learners: there are classes for children and teenagers, classes for adults (beginners and advanced), intensive classes (which cover twice as much material in one year), and special courses for partner of companies and organizations.

Levels (according to the Common European Framework of Reference): A1 and A2 - basic knowledge, B1 and B2 - good knowledge, C1 and C2 - excellent knowledge.

Teaching - waiting areas: All the rooms are comfortable, bright, fully air-conditioned, equipped with all the modern learning equipment, such as TVs, video, projectors and CD players. Particular importance has been given to students’ safety, and the centre complies with the strictest standards.

The waiting area for students, parents and visitors is equipped with a library, a special stand with German newspapers and magazines, Wi-Fi and a TV with satellite reception for more than 30 German TV channels.

Goethe - Zentrum organises:

• Cultural events in collaboration with the Goethe Institut of Athens and cultural institutions in the city
• FIT1 & FIT2 exams.
