N. Michael Klimatsidas, MD, PhD, is a graduate of the Cardiothoracic Surgery Clinic at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and specializes in minimally invasive thoracic surgery using the single-port technique, Uniportal VATS, as well as in robotic thoracoscopic surgery, Robotic VATS - RATS.

He began his career as a military physician and continued his training abroad, where he gained many years of experience in the United Kingdom and served as a consultant in thoracic surgery in Glasgow. Upon returning to Greece, he practices in Thessaloniki, his hometown, where he sees patients at the “Agios Loukas” Clinic in Panorama.

There, in collaboration with the clinic’s medical team, he applies modern techniques in minimally invasive and robotic thoracic surgery, while performing the first robot-assisted lobectomy using the Da Vinci X system.

This is the first procedure in Greece, Cyprus, and the Balkans using this specific robotic surgery system, as well as the first robotic thoracic surgery procedure ever performed in Northern Greece by a Greek thoracic surgeon.
