AGIOS GEORGIOS Elderly Care Unit was founded in 1981 and for 40 years it has been offering its services which are based on the founders’ and staff’s love for the elderly. Today, the home has two buildings - a brand new unit in Nea Raidestos and a 1,200 sq.m building in Lagyna, Thessaloniki. All the housing units are situated in modern facilities, which have comfortable rooms, modern kitchens and a large garden, and residents enjoy a friendly family environment.

The primary goal of the homes is to ensure that residents feel the warmth and cosiness that a family environment would offer them, but also the scientific support that gives them a feeling of security. It provides its residents with medical care from a physician and a neurologist - psychiatrist, and nursing care from certified staff who have particular knowledge in the field of the elderly and are specialised in caring for the elderly.

The company works with a social worker (recording social history, while being responsible for ensuring that residents adjust easily to their new environment), a physiotherapist and a specialist nutritionist (diet based on the needs of each elderly person). Finally, it also provides an organised pharmacy, disabled toilets, modern security, fire detection and a fire safety system.
