AQUABABIES swimming pool in Heraklion, Crete, has a heated indoor swimming pool situated in a bright space. Part of the roof is an automatic movable canopy made from aluminium and polycarbonate sheets.

This means that the swimming pool can be an open air pool during the summer months and an indoor pool during the winter months. It has a dehumidification and air recycling system which is used during the months when it operates as an indoor pool, meaning the atmosphere in the pool area is always ideal. The pool is kept outstandingly clean, the water quality is checked every 24 hours and the pool has an automatic ozonation system. The changing areas are heated.

There is a baby swimming program and the pool also runs swimming programmes for children up to 10 years old. There are also pregnancy and childbirth programs.

Program manager: Kyriakos Koutoulakis is a physical education teacher who is specialised in sports for young children. He is also a trained baby swimming coach and theatrical play leader. He is a graduate of the GRAFTS School and a graduate of the Moraitis School (Department of Music Kinetics). He graduated from Thessaloniki Institute for Sport, Physical Education and Health Sciences in 2000 and worked at the Dimiourgia kindergarten, with children's swimming classes and with children's classes at outdoor activities schools. He is an official member of the WABC World Aquatic Babies Congress, a swimming pool safety and hygiene supervisor and responsible for Dimiourgia kindergarten.
