KARATZAS SPYROS DDS, DMD, MS

The dentist - oral surgeon KARATZAS SPYROS DDS, DMD, MS, PerioArt & Implants Karatzas who operates his dental office in Patra, graduated from the School of Dentistry of the University of Athens in 1990. He was specialized in periodontology and implants at the University of Rochester, Eastman Dental Center, from 1991 to 1994 and completed his Master degree studies in 1995.

He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology since 1996. In the same year, the Michael G. Buonocore Award for outstanding scientific merit was awarded to him by the International Association for Dental Research. In 1996, he became an assistant professor of periodontology at the School of Dentistry of Boston University, where he worked as an instructor and researcher until 2000. From 2000 until today, he is a visiting assistant professor of periodontology at the University of Rochester and at Boston University, as well as a scientific associate of the School of Dentistry of Athens.

He is the scientific editor of the journal Endo-Perio, as well as a member of the scientific committee of the journal Aesthetic Dentistry & Implants. He is the president of the Hellenic Academy of Microscopic Dentistry, the vice-president of the Hellenic Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry and the vice-president of the Dental Association of Achaia.
