ADAM ATHANASIOS

Dr Adam Athanasios, an orthopaedic specialist, is a graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Medical School.

He completed postgraduate training in the joint replacement (arthroplasty) department of Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg, Sweden. Additionally, he received training in pediatric surgery at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital in Manchester, England, and in shoulder surgery at the Asklepios Klinik Seligenstadt teaching hospital in Frankfurt, Germany. He is a member of the International College of Surgeons and has participated in and presented papers at numerous orthopaedic conferences.

Furthermore, he has undergone training at the Policlinico San Pietro clinic in Milan, Italy (foot surgery), and at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in Manhattan, New York (knee and hip arthroplasty).

Dr. Athanasios Adam, an orthopaedic surgeon based in Thessaloniki, maintains two practices: one in the city center and another at the Euromedica General Clinic of Thessaloniki.

In 2014, he founded the 'Orthoprothesis Center', a facility specializing in reconstructive hip, knee, and shoulder surgery.

He was the first to introduce arthroplasty technology to the city –specifically robotic knee and hip arthroplasty– featuring bloodless procedures, minimally invasive surgery (MIS) techniques, and the ability to walk immediately.
